Welcome Our Newest Member, Patrick Reilly!

Patrick became interested in art and design in middle school.  He had some very talented teachers that inspired him to create.  He received a scholarship to attend Southwest Texas State University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Art Education.  Patrick taught secondary Art public schools in Texas and Arkansas for approximately fourteen years.  Recently he has been focusing on photography and large format printing. He gets his biggest inspiration from trips to Ireland and Scotland.  Patrick plans to pick up watercolor painting again; something he has not done in many years!  We are so glad to have him join us at the studio!

Art For a Mission...

The First United Methodist Church in Searcy is holding a silent auction over the next three weeks.  This auction will help fund the upcoming mission trip to Costa Rica.  Everyone is welcome to stop by the church during the week or on Sunday to see what all is available for bidding!  The last day to bid is on April 11.  These two paintings are being donated by Kelly VanHook and Terri Milligan of Second Saturday Studio!  We hope you will support this very worthy cause.

Glass Artist, Tammy Morris

I make my home in Wynne, Arkansas with my two daughters and husband. I graduated from Harding University with a degree in Elementary Education. I successfully taught elementary school for 15 years. Although I loved the challenges, my priorities lied with my family, and I chose to be a full time mother. After a few years, I realized I needed a challenging hobby that did NOT involve markers and crayons. Being an art enthusiast, I decided to try designing glass art. It has since turned in to a full time obsession. As such, my business "Elizabeth Paige Designs" was created from a dedication to my daughters by using their middle names.

Glass art is an intriguing and fascinating adventure. My artwork is created by arranging cold glass using a variety of techniques and heating them up to 1800 degrees F. in an electric kiln to achieve the desired appearance and form. Opening the kiln after each piece is fired and seeing it for the first time is very rewarding.
I love creating one-of-a-kind pieces with endless possibilities of fascination and challenge. I am thrilled to be involved with "Second Saturday Studio" to share my passion with you!

Sandra Kraft, Artist

Sandra Kraft is an artist living in Sherwood, Arkansas. She has been married to the same wonderful guy for 40 years and has two children, a great daughter-in-law and two wild grandsons that make life fun.

Sandra has always loved art and finds herself inspired by the masters and everything around her. She enjoys watercolor and acrylics with impressionist and contemporary style and hopes to spread a little joy to others through her work.

Say Hello to Andy Stringfellow!

Photography first came to Andy as a means to better understand his work as a graphic designer. He tends to take a photojournalistic approach to the camera and believes the photo may only be the beginning part to a completed work. Andy is originally from Heber Springs and now lives in Searcy with his wife, Heather and their two dogs.

Meet Mr. Joshua Biviano

Joshua Biviano is a 26 year old resident of Searcy, AR.  He attended Hendrix College where he graduated with a degree in Economics and Business.  He began painting in 2008, initially as a hobby, when he began studying the works of such artists as Sargent, Lipking, and Baranov of which his work is very much influenced.  His work is generally done in oil and is usally based around a figure piece.  His work strives for realism while maintaining a soft edge.

Artist, Gina Kraft

My parents provided me with numerous outlets of creativity growing up. Every since I can remember, I have loved to draw. As I child I loved drawing little towns and house plans. I now enjoy painting and drawing intricate designs. The more detail, the better I enjoy it. I have been in art a little bit my entire life, from obtaining a Graphic Design degree and working as a graphic designer to currently working with the government and painting on the side. 

I learn from each creation I make and I find joy that other people might find something in my art that interests them.  Each piece I do, I learn something new. Art is an ever-growing process and I am relishing the ride.

A Successful First Second Saturday!

We want to give a huge thanks to all of those who came out yesterday in support of our new venture, Second Saturday Studio in downtown Searcy, Arkansas!!!  We had approximately 300 come through and we were happy to see each and every smiling face.  The feedback was fantastic and we had several who about brought us to tears as they were so sweet and complimentary!  We want to give a special thanks to Christine Walker of Searcy Living magazine, Amy Burton of Main Street Searcy, Shirley Baugh from the Searcy Art Gallery and Mayor Belinda and Dwayne Laforce for coming to spend time with us and take photographs...here are a few shots from the first Second Saturday...stay tuned for our next opening...
