I make my home in Wynne, Arkansas with my two daughters and husband. I graduated from Harding University with a degree in Elementary Education. I successfully taught elementary school for 15 years. Although I loved the challenges, my priorities lied with my family, and I chose to be a full time mother. After a few years, I realized I needed a challenging hobby that did NOT involve markers and crayons. Being an art enthusiast, I decided to try designing glass art. It has since turned in to a full time obsession. As such, my business "Elizabeth Paige Designs" was created from a dedication to my daughters by using their middle names.
Glass art is an intriguing and fascinating adventure. My artwork is created by arranging cold glass using a variety of techniques and heating them up to 1800 degrees F. in an electric kiln to achieve the desired appearance and form. Opening the kiln after each piece is fired and seeing it for the first time is very rewarding.
I love creating one-of-a-kind pieces with endless possibilities of fascination and challenge. I am thrilled to be involved with "Second Saturday Studio" to share my passion with you!
4o years of art and craft play have transpired into a consistent style of works. Collage has been the main influence in Micah's art beginning with her son's first birthday party invitation in 1996. Since then her "play" evolved into a mix of collage elements as well as acrylic, oil, charcoal, found objects, vintage photos and text. She uses many types of foundations including canvas, watercolor paper, hardboard and glass. Fiber arts and sculpture sometimes creep into her creative repertoire. Vintage items and ephemera are re-purposed into most of these works. She takes her inspiration from daily life and the community of colorful characters who influence the imagination.
Kelly VanHook
At the age of about 37, an epiphany came over Kelly that she couldn't ignore...and that was that she needed to paint! Her husband Rick thought she meant the walls until he found her with a canvas and brush in her hand! Kelly's love of modern design and turning a house into home (hence her fabulous career in real estate as an Executive Broker for Dalrymple Residential and licensed in the State of Arkansas), led her to abstract painting...that and it's cheaper than therapy would have been! Kelly adores the fact that she is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, Realtor, artist, blogger, photography nut and most of all...rich in life by being blessed with fabulous friends and family who inspire her daily.
